Scrap: Mangyan Indigenous Peoples and resistance to large-scale mining in the Philippines

Land is life for the Mangyans and other indigenous peoples. Unfortunately, the Philippine Mining Act of 1995 allows large mining companies to own 100% of land that may be granted them by the government. Many of the mining sites are located in or very near ancestral lands. (Photo Mark Ambay III)
